World Environment Day Challenge 2020
Jay Austin was a visionary focused on protecting our natural resources, our environment, our planet.
Tragically, at the age of 29, on July 29th, 2018, while cycling the world,
Jay was intentionally and brutally murdered in a terrorist attack in Tajikistan,
a country in Central Asia,
simply because he was an American.
The Jay Austin Simply Be Kind Foundation World Environment Day Challenge 2020
This challenge opens May 2nd, 2020
Submissions’ Deadline June 7th, 2020 by Midnight
Sponsored by the United Nations, this year, Colombia, in partnership with Germany, will host World Environment Day on biodiversity.
World Environment Day (WED) was established in 1972 and first held in 1974. Over the years, World Environment Day has grown to be the largest global platform for environmental public outreach and is celebrated by millions of people in more than 150 countries.
World Environment Day is a powerful platform to accelerate, amplify and engage people, communities, governments and non-government organizations around the world to take action on critical environmental challenges facing the planet.
Each year, World Environment Day has a theme. 2019's theme, for example, was 'Beating Air Pollution'. The theme for 2020 is 'The Mighty Earth'.
Visit a list of activities that you can do to create change by clicking on the link at the very bottom of this page.
We ask interested participants to create a blog post on social media with its focus on how the daily individual consumption habits of seven billion people, with an emphasis on this year's theme, can have a huge impact on the planet.
Send those posts to us at submit@TheJayAustinSimplyBeKindFoundation.com and post to your social media platforms (twitter/facebook/instagram) using the hashtag #TJASBKFEnvironment.
Participants will be asked to contribute a $5 donation to be entered to win a picnic basket* (a $40 value) packed with a $50 Visa gift card as our thank you to enjoy the environment you'll help change. A minimum of 20 participants is required to award prize; if minimum is not reached,
donations will be refunded and prize will not be awarded.

'I could die doing what I love, but I could also die never having really lived. To me, that would have been a far greater tragedy.' - Jay Austin
Jay really lived .. up until the very moment he was intentionally brutally murdered in a terrorist attack while cycling the world.
Jay lost his life simply because he was an American.
