Welcome to The Jay Austin Simply Be Kind Foundation website

Who is our inspiration, Jay Austin?

At 389 days in of cycling the globe, after pedaling through 27 countries, while on his bike,

Jay Austin, a Washington, DC USA resident, minimalist and environmental advocate,

was intentionally and brutally murdered on July 29th, 2018

in a terrorist attack abroad, simply because he was an American.

He was 29 years old.

Who Is Jay Austin?

Simply Cycling, Traveling The World By Bicycle

is the blog Jay was writing while on his adventure,

'part chronicling our journey and part helping others plan their own'.

Read it here.

Hoping to advocate for Jay's passions, of which he had many,

'I could die doing what I love, but I could also die never having really lived.  To me, that would have been a far greater tragedy.'  - Jay Austin

Jay really lived .. up until the very moment he was intentionally brutally murdered in a terrorist attack while cycling the world.

Jay lost his life simply because he was an American.
